The Bereavement Department of North Iowa is offering 3 upcoming grief support opportunities. Adopt-a-Child Winterwear Drive

North Iowa Community Action Headstart is offering the Adopt-A-Child program to help provide winter outerwear to children who need it. MacNider Art Museum ‘Artoberfest’

‘Artoberfest’ will be held at the MacNider Art Museum in Mason City. Hidden Works of Jay ‘Ding’ Darling @ Milton R. Owen Nature Center

A new exhibit celebrating the life of Iowa native Jay N. “Ding” Darling will be on display beginning October 24th, 2014 at the Milton R. Owen Nature Center, just west of Osage. Darling was a political cartoonist for the Des Moines Register in the early 1900s, and was a highly respected conservationist in North Central Iowa.  This exhibit will feature rarely seen artifacts, photos, and cartoons from Darling’s life. Swaledale FD Pheasant Breakfast

Cathleen Harris, Free Organ Concert

There will be a FREE organ concert with Cathleen Harris on Sunday, October 26th at 2PM First Congregational United Church of Christ 100 1st St NE, Mason City   Cathleen (McCready) Harris is a Nora Springs native, and has performed as a church organist in Iowa, Minnesota, Scotland, and Germany.  She has play the organ in churches across much of Northern Iowa and Southern Minnesota.  Share her gift in our community with this free organ concert.
